The Curriculum 2013

Since the early 2013, Indonesia has new curriculum system, called Curriculum 2013. The government believe that this new curriculum is better than the previous one or KTSP. They claim this curriculum will be succesfully implemented in our education. But in fact, there are still some problems in this new system.

First, Curriculum 2013 has been introduced for about two years but there are still many school that do not understand how to implemented this new curriculum. The lack of socialisation makes teachers have difficultness to understood curriculum 2013. The still confused how to applied this system in their class. Another problem comes up from  substandart coursebooks and workbooks that has not being distribeted perfectly. The consequences is teachers have to download  the books and print it out by themself. Ofcourse this way is not effective if students have to pay cost for download and print out every meeting.

From those problems, no wonder that some experts said that curriculum 2013 is not ready yet to applied. However, the education must go on, and in order to solve those problems is the government must give massive and intensive training for teachers in each school. They have to make sure that teachers really understand in curriculum 2013 and be able to applied this system in ther class. 

The also must provide completely the instuctional materials such as coursebooks and workbooks for each school, to make easy the teacher for applied this new curriculum.

More importantly, the government must review every single aspect in this new curriculum, because no matter how perfect a concept of curriculum, it will never work if nobody can not applied.
