Process Vs Product

Process should be more appreciated in education rather than product. Why? Because process is the time where students are truly learning about education it self. Another reason is, process teaches students how important to work hard for improve their knowledge than just work instantly on the target of product. Besides, when process is being appreciated, students will be motivated to gives their best effort in learning. That’s why, good process makes good product, too. In the other hand, we cannot ignore the fact that product is a determined of success or filed person in education. Even sometimes, product is not always represent the real achievement of study. However, the matter subject here is how students enable to gets understanding in their education without just put the target on product. A and B were sitting on a chair under a tree in their campus yard, as usual. The sky was so clear, the stars was like a thousand fireflys. No one say something. Silence is a song, and they know how to enjoyed it.


A : “What are you thinking obout?”     (Without moved his eyes from the night sky)

B : “Nothing”       (Still looking up at the sky, too)

A : “Really? Nothing?”

B : “Hmmm.”


Space a while


B : “How about you? Are you thinking about something?”

A : “Yes, I am”

B : “What is that?”

A : “You”         (Still looking up at the sky)

B : “Me???” (Staring at the man beside her. Confused. Pointed herself with her four finger)

A : “Yea. You” (Fially staring at B)

B : “What’s wrong with ME?” (Stressing on word “ME”)

A : “Are you happy?”

B : (Not ready for such question,confused, thinking a while before answer)

        “Well, I don’t know Am I happy, But, I’m clearly not feel sad right now.

        Can we said that I’m happy then?”


A : “I think that’s not enough. Then, what makes you happy?”

B : “Emm..If you give me a box of chocolate ice cream, I am surely will be happy”

A : (Rolled his eyes) “Be serious please”

B : “ OK. OK I will “ (Thinking a while)

      Happy...Happiness is like, you know, like ice cream. They have many different taste.

      Chocolate, Vanilla, Strowberry. In this life if we are lucky enough, we would have chance

      To try all those different taste of happiness.”

A : “Then, so far, what kind of happiness that you had have tasted?”

B : “Not Many. But I think I’m lucky for having one special taste of happiness. Better than

       Chocolate or even strowberry.”

A : “What is that?”

B : “The happiness of home. Dad, Mom, sister. Family is the happiness I like most.That’s not

      Always as sweet at chocolate. But this is the purest happiness. The only one taste you

     Would missed wherever you are.”

A :  (Smiling. Somehow, that girl beside him was like stole all of his vocabulary of words)

B : “ Wait. I think I know what are in your mind. “Woa...this girl is really AWESOME..

       Am I right? “        (saying overact)

A : ” (Laughing automatically) You are so.... (“adorable” said silently)

B : “Well, because you made me talk too much. You have to buy me ice cream.

       Oh.. I’m already thristy.   (woke up from the chair. Walked slowly)

A : “ Alright.”  (Came after B)

B : “ Really?”

A : “Whatever you want, princess”

B : “Yay...!!!”


(Thay walked further and further away. Left the tree behind)


A : “Bay the way, are you happy by being with me?”

B : “Hmm..How I would said. It’s rather complicated actually.”       (Said overact)

A : “Huh...Then, If I am an ice cream, what kind of taste I am? Chocolate? Strowberry?”

B : “ No. You are Chili.”

A : “Hah! There is no chili ice cream!”

B : (Laughing)

A : ”Are you laughing? Well, I will not buy you any ice cream. Never.”       (Felling upset)

B : “I’m just kidding. See, I’m going to order ice cream that represent your taste.”

A : “Represent my taste?”

B : “ Yeah.”

A : “ So, What kind of ice cream that you are going to order to represent my taste?”

       ( A said overact)

B : “I will have Chocolate, Vanilla, Lechy, Strowberry, Blueberry, Murberry...”

A : “ What?”

B : “ You are also Chesee and Chili and...”

A : “ Aishhh...You really...”

A and B laughing together.


If silence is a song, then laugh is the liryk.

So, what kind of ice cream that you have right now? I hope that’s not Chili :).

Backgroud Of The Research



BACKGROUND OF THE RESEARCH
          English is a language that is used by almost everyone in the world because English is an international language. In Indonesia English is not as a second language but English is a foreign language. English is also called as the target language that has to be teaching in schools in Indonesian curriculum. Therefore the student is hoped to increase their ability in English. Now days, not only as a foreign language but also taught from secondary up to university level. One of the purposes in teaching English itself is to develop communicative ability in its language that consist of writing, reading, speaking, and listening. In other words, learning English means learning the way to communicative by that language as a target language, either in writing or expressions.
Since English is used as a foreign language in Indonesia, many efforts are needed in teaching and learning process, it is not only from the teacher but also from the student side. There are four main skills, there are writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Each of them is important and has different ways or has the relation each other. There are many kinds of subject in teaching and learning English, one of the skills is writing. Writing is one of the four in language skills, which is taught in the school. In writing the student can express their feelings, idea, thoughts and their opinions. “Writing is about more than making our thoughts and ideas visible and concrete. However, writing in English is not easy and the students often find some difficulties while they are writing (Ghaith, 2002). “Writing is different from learning other skills because writing is thinking process and need much time. Writing can help us to deepen understanding. It can help to make the sense of the information.
Narrative is telling story of some true or factious event or connected sequence of events. That‘s Recounted by a narrator a narrate (although there are may be more than one of each). Narratives are distinguished from descriptions of qualities, states, or situations, and also from dramatic enactment of events. A narrative will consist of a set event recounted in a process of narrative, in which the events are selected and arranged in a particular order. The narrative must be heavy on the historical and light on the fictional; otherwise, the purpose of the assignment would be compromised.
Simple past tense is used in narrative writing, because the narration is writing about a succession of event in the past. The Narrative is usually found in novels, short stories, fairy tales, and fables. For example simple past tense is “Where do you go yesterday? It should be “Where did you go yesterday? “or the use of pronoun, for example” we family went the Beach” instead of “our family went to the Beach. In fact, event collage students still feel difficulties in writing English grammatically. Their mistakes because they do not understand the grammar well, and how to organize the ideas. In condition above, teacher’s strategy becomes important in the English teaching learning process, especially in choosing the appropriate technique in teaching writing. To meet this need,teacher need variation techniques that can help the students develop and organize their ideas in good writing.
Based on the discussion, this study will apply narrative text learning process of writing. It is assumed that by using small narrative text the students’writing ability canbe improved. When the subject was in the tenth grade in the 2014/2015 academic year.
Based on the discussion above,a classroom action research entitled: INCREASING THE STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILL BY USING NARRATIVE TEXT AT SMA BANYUWANGI.

My days starts at 4 a.m. I wake up at that time to perform praying then sleep again until about 6 a.m to takes my sister to her school. After having breakfast I go to my work place which takes  only about 5 minutes by motorcycle. 
I work on a fashion production house and makes dresses there. Actually I am such a part time worker because on a middle day I have to back home and prepare to go to my University, the place where I study English. Usually my first class starts on 4 p.m and over at 8 p.m. After the class over I usually takes time with my classsmates friends, we have dinner or just having fun conversations. I back home at 9 pm, watch tv for a while and then gets ready to sleep. thats my usuall daily activities.

INCREASING THE STUDENT WRITING SKILL BY USING NARRATIVE TEXT AT SMA BANYUWANGI

Writing is an interactive process for student to increase English and most important aspect to learning English. They improve interpersonal relationship and learn how to share about knowledge, feelings and opinion about something. Writing skill is one of the skills that is very difficult and makes the student bored because writing must has more experience and more knowledge. This study purpose to find out the problem the Students in making simple past tense in narrative text. The teacher has to be creative in teaching and learning writing. So it makes interested to study more. And then the teacher give motivation to the students to be more relax in learning English especially in writing skill and English is easy to learn, do not be afraid to make mistake, because it is a process to reach a success
To meet this need , The purpose of this classroom action research was to improve tenth year students’ writing achievement  at SMA BANYUWANGI in the 2014/2015 academic year. By using narrative tex, The researcher took the tenth year students as the subject of classroom action research. this classroom action research had  two cycles which consisted of four main stages in each cycles. They are preparation, implementation, observation and reflection of the action.. In this research, the test was a written test in which the teacher asked the students to write a narrative text. From the result of the study, it could be stated that used of narrative text with small group work could improve the tenth grade studets writing achievement test at SMABANYUWANGI in the 2014/2015 year.

What it takes to be a good teacher?
At this time, especially in Indonesia, become a teacher is one of good occupation. If ten years ago a teacher  is identict with low sallary, but now, teacher do not have to be worry about their life, because they have enough money from become a teacher. Thats why the number of young people who have a dream to become a teacher are increase lately. But, in fact, good sallary of a teacher still not deal with their good quality. There are still many teachers who teach with old fashion style. So, what it takes to be a good teacher?
In order to become a good teacher, a person must have a strong passion at first. It is very essential part if people want to be a teacher. Passion is when people loves what they do. Once they have a strong passion in teaching, another positive things which will help them to be success as a teacher will follow after. A strong passion also could make people to survive in any condition, no matter how hard the situation will be.
The other factor is dedication. There are so many teacher, but not all of them have enough dedication in ther job. A teacher is not just come to the class, explain the material, giving score to the students, then leave the room. Absolutely not. No matter how smart a teacher, thats will be useless if they cannot make sure that  their students be able to understand what they said. This is the point that commonly teachers forget about. Teachers have responsibility to make each students getting new knowledge every time they come to the class. Thats why dedication is nedeed. When teachers have dedication, they will give their time, their power, and their mind to make their students success in learning.
The last thing that people need to be a good teacher is Creativation. Become a teacher is not all about what will they give to the students, but what students need from them. Each students has different ability, capacity, and characteristic. It is not easy to make aech student feel statisfy in class. It is depend on how creative the teachers to creat a fun class for their students.
Finally, as precious as become a teacher, it brings big responsibility. Then, three contributing factors to a successful career as a good teacher are passion, dedication, and creativation.

What It Takes To Be A Good Teacher?
At this moment, especially in Indonesia, become a teacher is one of a good occupation.
